I started this run, bike, and swim blog in 2010 just after competing in the Augusta, Georgia Ironman 70.3 triathlon. I've tried to add new content over the years as my focus has shifted from and back to racing. I hope you enjoy it and will follow me as I train and compete along the way to my 3rd full Ironman in Florida on November 4th of 2017.

My Triathlon Gear
One of the things that make triathlons more fun than just running, cycling or swimming is the gear. Not only can you discuss with friends which shoes, socks, shorts and singlets are best but you've got a whole bunch of other stuff to talk about too.
My current running shoes of choice for training are Asics Cumulus 12's but I race in New Balance 758's.
My bike is a 2010 Dura-Ace Quintana Roo CD0.1 with Flashpoint FP60 wheels.
When I competed in the 2010 Augusta HIM I brought both my Bell Sweep and Giro Advantage 2 helmets. I planned to wear the Bell helmet if it was hot and the more aero and less vented Giro helmet if it was cool. It was cool and rainy for almost the entire 56 miles of the bike segment so I was glad I had the Giro helmet.
I have a Blue Seventy Reaction full wetsuit and Aquasphere Kaiman goggles for the swim.
A few of my other accessories are a Bontrager Aero Race Pack hydration system, Lake CX211 cycling shoes, Look Keo 2 Max Carbon pedals, and an XLab Carbon Wing with Gorilla cages.
Some items I don't have are a GPS watch with heartrate monitor. I like the Garmin 310xt but I think I'll wait to see what Garmin comes out with next. I also don't have an bike trainer but a Cycleops Fluid 2 is likely not far away.
